The Galesburg Public Library Foundation partners with the Galesburg Public Library to strengthen its services so that all residents have the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed.
Founded in 2007, the Foundation is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt charitable institution that raises funds to enhance the Library’s ability to sustain, improve, and increase its many resources and services. The Foundation works with the Library so it can continue to be a vital part of the greater Galesburg community.
The Foundation will support the Galesburg Public Library Capital Campaign which will fund the construction of a new library, expected to open in early 2024. The new library, located on the corner of West Main and South Academy Streets, will be a destination, center for civic and community activity, and anchor for the downtown’s west end. The library will provide barrier free access for all patrons and offer innovative technology, learning labs, and multi-use spaces for children, families, adults, and businesses.

The new library will blend with the unique character of the Galesburg historic district while providing extensive natural light indoors and outdoor green space to host library programs and feature public art and gardens.
